Dr Iain Armstrong,

B.A. Hons (RSAMD), Ph.D (University of Birmingham)

In addition to his artistic practice in sound composition Dr Iain Armstrong has served in an academic role at the Universities of Birmingham and Northampton. His most recent school projects have involved teaching listening, recording and composition as a means to creatively engage with the curriculum.

He has been a regular workshop leader on the Sonic Postcards Project which was awarded the New Statesman New Media Award for Education 2006. He is also a lead artist on many Creative Partnerships Projects and is a Creative Agent on the Black Country Creative Partnerships team.

His community work includes a group exhibition commissioned by Salford Museum and Art Gallery in 2006 which explored the issue of immigration in the area through direct engagement with the local refugee and asylum seeker population. Further Information.

Dr Roberta Hoppé,

B.Sc Hons (Middlesex) Ph.D (King’s College, University of London)

Dr Hoppé has worked in the general fields of health, psychology and  communications.

She has worked in sexual health at the Royal Free Hospital, London and taught health psychology and communications at Guy’s Hospital, London. At Middlesex she taught health psychology and social psychology. At the University of St Andrews she taught medical education and social sciences and has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Her current research interests include mental health and health promotion; social deprivation; quantitative analysis; methodology, and the employment of digital technologies and participatory video.

Dr Ian McCormick,

M.A. Hons (University of St Andrews ),Ph.D (University of Leeds).

Dr McCormick is a film director, academic researcher and community media consultant. He served as a Professor in Community Regeneration and the Arts at the University of Northampton until 2009. He has been employed as producer, director and post-production editor in 17 films for Public Services and the Third Sector since 2003.

Ian was the Director of the International Community Film Festival in 2006 and 2008. The festivals received over 300 community development films and enjoyed excellent media coverage from the BBC and the The Guardian.  Ian is currently writing a book about community film and also writes on public sector and civil society communications issues.

As a Senior Lead Consultant Dr McCormick was commissioned to produce Northamptonshire’s Infrastructure Investment Plan in 2004 which was awarded £1m from the Government Office for the East Midlands/ Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. Other commissioned research has included: social enterprise; ICT support needs; volunteering and capacity building; rural proofing; income generation and sustainability; governance; sectoral mapping; partnership mapping; marketing, communications and PR; faith groups; BME; youth support needs (£300k).

Kristiene Clarke

Kristiene Clarke is an award winning filmmaker who has numerous Broadcast, NGO, Charity and Third sector documentary credits to her  name.   She has worked on the BBC’s flagship arts series ARENA , made  films for all the other major UK channels and  for other global broadcasters.

With excellent people skills she is able to deal tactfully with contributors on many sensitive subjects. She  also has strong storytelling skills; journalistic skills; archive skills; compliance and legal skills.  Kristiene  is experienced at making both presenter led, and observational films , with   script writing experience in a wide range of styles and moods. Able to construct original, entertaining, and engaging films which interpret self-devised ideas  or others’ proposals in an imaginative, and creative way.  Demonstrating the full artistic and educational potential of the documentary form.   Experienced at self shooting she  is used to rapid turn around of material or  longer term projects and knows how to make the most of a budget.

Kristiene can  also devote time and the commitment to initiate a campaign around your film, as well as clearly identifying  partners early on, experts in the field who have resources and who are key to the sustainability of a campaign.

She can also help you set  campaign goals based on an understanding of the target audiences for your film, as well as devising  a campaign strategy appropriate to those audiences incorporating both a distribution plan (TV, theatrical , DVD  or educational release), press & PR, special events, plus online tools such as social networks, viral campaigns, blogs.
